Procrastination at its finest

has led to the creation of this blog. In the next 4 days I have the honour of tackling 2 midterms, 2 essays and 2 projects. Scratch that, one project, I finished my Spanish assignment 10min ago (thannnk god).

So of course, when it all seems too much to bare, instead of buckling down I turn my attention to any and all methods of distraction. Over the years I've had livejournals, photoblogs, tumblrs & twitter. I have many friends online who I've met through the art of blogging. It's allowed me to make great friends and meet amazing people. People get to know you in a whole different way when you interact from behind your computer screen - they get to see you through rose-coloured glasses, the ones you happily provide, yes. But more so, they get to see you when you're not afraid of putting it all out there. For a girl who keeps pretty quiet on the personal front, many of my online friends know more about me than anyone else - I don't hold back online.

This will be my first attempt at a blog I share with people I know. I had a travel blog for a short while but I got sick of updating it and it all felt very forced & foreign. I wasn't writing it for myself I was writing it for my parents.

This blog - my newest project - will help me in destroying my reputation, by discussing my life's current obsessions & curiosities. Most of this will have to do with the fact that I can't let any television show pass me by without giving it an honest chance (some might say i have 'a problem'), but there will be more. I figure if I can share with strangers I should learn to share with real friends (online we would call these our 'IRL friends') and let down my guard a bit.
I might discuss wants/needs/personal life, but really this will just be an opinion blog.

I am a self declared dork, pushing on nerd.
I won't go by 'geek' because that usually requires intelligence to top everything off...
but I can accept the strange looks I might get for anything that is to come. You will soon learn fun facts about me... things like I can watch 7 seasons of Buffy in about a month, with pride.
Or that I used to have a youtube channel.
I've made it through the majority of Battlestar Gallactica, and only stopped out of boredom, not out of dislike.
But in following this blog you might also find some things peaking your interest. Novels you should read, less-popular television that should be watched by all (trust me I won't go recommending that you all watch Dr. Who, I'd like to think I know the general population better than that...), and maybe a cause or event or two that you wouldn't have otherwise heard of.

I don't expect much of a reception, because this really will just be a place for me to ramble about different loves of mine... but at least I can say it's public. At least I can say I'm not hiding it.
